TZPP publishes science fiction,  fantasy, young adult and exceptional children's science fiction & fantasy, horror, mystery, action & adventure, thriller/suspense, historical fiction, romance, and erotica. Additionally, we acquire exceptional autobiographies and memoirs. For information on submitting short stories and or novellas, please see the writing competition page. The average length of the novels we publish varies but is very rarely less than 75,000 words, and if accepted will most likely require a revision for length.

We are very interested in publishing debut novels that are of professional quality (minimum 75,000 words). A literary agent is not required for submission. We will not consider manuscripts that are currently on submission to another publisher, nor do we normally engage in title auctions.

We do pay advances; however, an advance above $2,500 is rare and reserved only for Authors with previous sales records and/or a backlist of several titles. On average, a first time author may expect a competitive advance that will meet the membership criteria of the major writers' associations (SFWA, HWA, MWA, and RWA).

It is not necessary for you to register or copyright your work before publication—it is protected by law as long as it has not been published. When published, we will copyright the book in the author's name and register that copyright with the Library of Congress.

Zharmae actively reviews work submitted through Bowker Manuscript Services. The benefit to you, the writer, is that there are many wonderful publishers also reviewing the work submitted on this website. You have a greater chance of having your work acquired by using this service. You may submit your work on BMS and alert us to your submission there. To use their manuscript service please go to www.bowkermanuscriptsubmissions.com. This is, however, not our primary means of reviewing work.

We only accept electronic submissions. If we accept your work, you will be required to provide a thumb drive or CD with the manuscript.

Very important: Please type your name, address and phone number in the upper right hand corner of the first page of your manuscript. Right under this, please put the length of your manuscript in number of words.

It may require up to 12 weeks (or slightly longer) for our editors to review an initial submission. All submissions receive a reply email notifying the author of receipt of their query or submission.

Please include a ONE page synopsis of your story. The submission should be 25-45 pages or the first three to five chapters.  Acceptable formats need to be document/text files, double spaced and one inch margins. Please do NOT submit the full manuscript, unless or until requested to do so.
